She decides to head off toward the hill after the animal leaving Kay asleep. As she makes her way over the peak of the hill the sun directly hits her face. She can see the Sun has just come over the horizon and lights up a large cloudy area in the distance and also illuminates an enormous mountain. Ely squints her eyes and blocks the sun with her hand. ”Wow. Kay’s right.” Ely looks down at Lucky who stands by her side looking out at the mountain. Lucky looks up at her making eye contact. ”It’s not that far Lucky. We can make it.” Lucky tilts it’s head confused and makes an animal sound. Ely smiles and giggles to herself. There is a long pause as the two continue to look out at the vast distant mountain as we capture the entire scene in it’s whole. The two turn around and begin heading back down the hill. Ely slowly walks through an open gravel field keeping up with Lucky whom runs in front of her. Suddenly Lucky stops in it’s tracks and stands upright. Ely appears confused and stops before it. ”Hey? What is it Lucky?” Lucky makes some loud squealing sounds before turning and scurrying away. ”HEY!?” Ely begins to chase Lucky when suddenly a shockwave ripples through the ground sending Ely falling onto her stomach. She looks around at the gravel that begins vibrating viciously. She is terrified. She looks up into the direction of the buildings. ”Oh no. Kay.” Kay slowly begins to wake up as small rocks and dust falls from the ceiling. The ground trembles more and more. Kay begins to realise what is going on and immediately looks around him for Ely. ”Ely?” Ely is running in the open gravel field still quite some distance. She is shouting Kay’s name as the ground rumbles more and more. Eventually the ground around her starts to split open. Kay is shoving their supplies into his bag in a panicked state. The room around him begins to start collapsing so he quickly runs outside. He looks up at the enormous skyscraper and sees pieces begin to crack and fall from it. He is terrified. Kay faintly hears the cries of his name from Ely and turns to the direction before sprinting toward her. Kay and Ely run toward each other in an open field still hundreds of meters apart. Some of the buildings behind Kay begin to collapse as the ground shakes more. Suddenly there is another massive shockwave through the ground that ultimately ends the quake. Both Ely and Kay fall to the ground looking up at each other. Kay begins to climb to his feet when he hears the loud creaking of metal and concrete behind him. He turns to see the enormous skyscraper beginning to collapse quickly. And as he turns to look back at Ely it completely crushes down onto him. There is a long pause as Ely still on the ground processes what she just saw. She begins to tear up and look as though all hope is lost. After some short grieving time there is then the sound of scraping metal. She looks up to see a figure emerging from the mass debris of concrete. Kay climbs up above the rubble and looks down at Ely who stands to her feet amazed. Kay inspects his hands and lower body for signs of injury. He only finds a small cut on the top left palm of his hand. As Kay steps down she runs to embrace him in a hug. Kay is shell shocked as he wraps his arm around Ely.
