At the end of Season 2, Fateus dangles from the edge of the Gates Bridge as Lace rushes to him, screaming his name. Facing each other as he hangs, Lace catches hold of his tie, echoing their earlier exchange. They lock eyes, and Fateus realizes what he must do. With resignation, he unties the knot, releasing himself into a free fall.

perhpas with this sequence fateus has a digital watch also and clicks it and it starts a timer and so he can time how long he is falling for as so he can use his token ability to save himself? (mum shows him how to do this when he is young? her voice over as he closes his eyes while flaling and presses the button? — we then get to see how long he free falls for (like almost 2 mins or something)
