time jump forward character living a modern-day life having a lot of fun.

they attempt to avoid their duty, not grappling with the weight of responsibility. occasionally seeing glimpses of the hartez and stuff building up time moving toward the inevitable war.

the first time he encounters his future self the guy walks right up to him in a bar when he is facing away talking with his friends and taps him on the shoulder and confronts him he has a duty to return to.

his future self is the one that is tracking him down and telling him he has to go back.

character gets on a train stares blindly out the window and goes all the way to the end of the line. then crosses to the other line, gets on and goes all the way to the other end.

“if you let me convince you then that’s proof you can fix it”

“your going back (name)”

“we have a duty” (holding up token crystal)

“i dont want it to end”

“im not convinced it’s going to be ever this perfect again”

you’re acting like we get a choice WE DO GET A CHOICE

This city is looking different tonight…

the character begins to realize the need to return and fulfill their purpose,

eventually the older self version says there is someone you need to meet and so he takes him to an old peoples home where we see his alive father in the distance. he asks what how is this possible. the olderself says something like “because you save him… after you save me…”. (implying he is going to go back into the past and save his father” maybe the last thing he says to his future self is something like, so im guess i wont be seeing you again. and he might say something like, yep we’re finally done here, it’s time for me to leave and return.

and so he goes and has a conversation with his father, a very emotional one where his father breaks down and cries and apologises.

at some point around here it is finally revealed as a twist that the olderself we see is actually the same person as the pov and only we didnt know that until around about now.

in the end he finally becomes his future self and full circle happens and the last scene could be the moment he pov walks up to himself who is sitting down at the bar with his friends and taps him on the shoulder and says hey.
