In one scene, Warner sees potential in Jorsse—something he could exploit. He tells Jorsse to follow him, leading him to the top of the Gate's Keep, at the very tip of the cylindrical tower.

A rebel named Juset is being held captive there, suffering from dehydration after days of imprisonment. In a cruel twist, Juset has been brought out into the rain. However, an umbrella is placed over him, allowing him to stand in the rain, chained up and unable to drink any of it. Warner has been trying to extract vital information from him.

Warner, recognizing Jorsse's naivety, uses him to try and extract information from Juset. Surprisingly, Jorsse is successful, and this information leads to further revelations.

Eventually Jorsse secretly frees Juset, expressing a desire to join the rebels and become one of them. Jorsse then ventures with Juset to the rebel base.
