Archeston

The Gates to Heaven, Archeston, is the central district governed by the Heavens. It's a new world built atop the old, located high above the planet’s atmosphere, beyond the reach of any danger below. This dark cyber city thrives within the clouds, where the rain never ceases. Despite its relatively narrow horizontal expanse, it stretches vertically with enormous structures interconnected by bridges. Each citizen is assigned an occupation that best serves the order of The Heavens.

The city measures 10 kilometres in width and 5 kilometres in height. The air within Archeston is exceptionally thin, making it difficult to breathe for those who haven't adapted to the climate. Travellers from the Heavens use air ventilation devices and masks to facilitate their breathing. Surprisingly, overpopulation is not a concern here, food resources are, so if the Heavens decide to reduce their society, they do so. This has left the city vast in structure but relatively devoid of life.

Food resources are distributed sparingly among the few remaining citizens. This is scarce due to the nature of the REDD chemical and surface environment. In all other aspects, the Heavens possess vast resources.

As mentioned before if the Heavens need to reduce the population because of low food resources then they do so, this is called a Purge and usually this is conducted by Saint Monark himself who will use the Weeping Gavel to kill sick, disabled, useless, sometimes random people of society all at once, during this Purge that usually takes place at night you can hear screaming and crying all night as people across the city bleed to death at random. This is a large motivator as to why people push themselves to work as hard as possible at their duty so they aren’t selected.

the archeston funeral service meerly involves pushing the body off the edge of the gates. into the abyss below. along with any and all rubbish from archeston.

Archeston Sociology

Ethnicity:

A mix of diverse and Heaven race types.

Language:

Formal posh English. The Oligarchs speak a much different dialect similar to those from the Heavens, although not as complex. They may skip over words or cut out long words that seem unnecessary to pronounce. For example, when saying numbers in the hundreds or thousands, they will instead say “seven thirty-two” instead of “seven hundred and thirty-two” or “nineteen forty-five” instead of “one thousand nine hundred and forty-five.” Much like how we say years in a dating sense.

Culture:

Oligarchy (Archeston). ****Upper-class civilisation. Communism (Gatekeepers). because there is no religion there is also no marridge]

Heaven’s Law

The Oligarch lays down 3 categories of official Laws. Trials are typically held immediately on the site of the crime, allowing the guilty one last wish to jump to their death.

Kin Punishment: Violating any of Heaven’s Laws is punishable by death. All those blood related to the guilty must also face the same punishment; this is the three-generation rule.

CATEGORY 1 (Executed immediately or given the choice for suicide off the Gate’s edge)
